Now the Yahoo Weather Widget isn't working?

Dashboard operation is still inconsistent and it appears over one year has passed since someone had a similar problem. I’m running 10.13.6 High Sierra. For several months the Dictionary widget did not respond, then one day, recently, it just started working again. Now, the Yahoo Weather widget permits me to enter a city on its reverse side, but when flipped back to the front side the widget is blank??? I’ve seen comments by others that leaves me wondering if the Dashboard app really isn’t being actively supported. I hope this application will continue to be supported. Any new takes on this problem?

There is nothing you can do about it, nor is it the fault of your Mac either. The server that this widget talks to has changed, thus breaking the Weather widget. The whole Dashboard solution goes away in macOS 10.15 (Catalina).

Your alternative is not the Dashboard, but to enable the Apple Today Weather extension (System Preferences : Extensions : Today : Weather, and then click the ⁝☰ icon in the upper-right corner of the menu bar, and choose Today. Then configure the Weather tool for your locale.
