Hello;
I've been unable to access my mac session after changing its password. I tried resetting the password using Recovery Mode but I still cannot access it with the new recovery key. I'm on MacOs High Sierra.

Do you have a Time Machine backup you can restore from?
Sadly no. I also do not have a recovery key either. I found out through terminal that it was stored on iCloud. Is there a way to retrieve it from there?
Sorry, not exactly aware of what recovery key means for sure.
Oh god thank you so much for your help. I followed the instructions found on the second link under the "reset mac password without CD Boot drive" section and it worked!!
