You import photos through the Photos app on the Windows computer. Open Photos, connect the iPhone to the computer, and open the iPhone. You should have the option to import photos from a USB device, and Windows will handle it. I do know that Windows 10 does not play well when it comes to photos on the iPhone, and trying to do it through Explorer in Windows 10 is next to impossible. Some versions of Windows 10 do not like the iPhone at all.

That is not a standard method to transfer data from an iPhone to a computer and your version of Windows is having trouble talking to the iPhone. This could also be a problem with your USB Master on your computer, it would be worth your time to reload and restart it.

One other possibility is to acquire an app that is actually made to do this. For PCs I've used TouchCopy and it works great in moving any kind of data from an iPhone to a PC. But I did run into that message once using the software and it turned out I had to reload the restart the USB root on the computer as well as switch ports.

Copy the images and video from the DCIM folder on the iphone into windows using explorer.

I;m getting ignored on apple support lol... They put me on hold then in the middle of talking to someone I am slammed back into hold music. lol wow.

I wonder if this is an issue with unix style file system vs how iOS offers it for windows. *nix file systems allow multiple files with the same name, and variation of the same name. They show the same file name twice with different file size and date. On windows file systems this is not allowed. It is Apple's job to make these files available to windows and this is where they have not fixed these long-standing issues...

40 GB all through an outdated "lightning port" rofl. Def will never buy another apple product, and I've had them since iPhone 1, and Apple IIc in the 80s.
