when i bought my iphone its battery maximum capacity was 88% but after sometime i erased all data on it and unexpectedly its battery maximum capacity increases to 99% .
i want to ask that it is a mechanical problem or my battery is ok ?
is it possible that iphones maximum capacity of battery increases?

The Battery Capacity is an estimation based on the battery condition. What version of the iPhone is this? You say that when you bought it that it displayed 88%. Did you purchase this device new? While I've not seen a device go from 88% to 99%, if you are concerned, you can make an appointment with Apple and they can connect to the device and diagnose the battery.
I've never seen one increase that much. As I said, you can make a Genius Bar appointment at the nearest Apple Store to have it checked by Apple. They will explain your options. Good luck.
it is displaying 99% but it seems to be working on 88% or less .

How are you determining that it is working at 88% or less? There's really no way to tell the battery condition just from usage data.
