error code: This mac can't connect to icloud because of a problem with "my email"

error code: This mac can't connect to icloud because of a problem with "my email account"

Open Icloud preferences to fix this problem.

I did all the suggested fixes and nothing worked. Anyone have this problem with their macbook pro?
