Duplicate Friend Name on Watch Activity List

How do I change the name of a friend in the Apple Watch Activity app? I have two friends named Ben that share their activity with me however there is no last initial or other differentiating factor of the two names. Can I rename one of them in the Activity app without changing their actual contact in my phone? See picture for example.

This might work. First remove one of them:

Change your friend settings

You can easily adjust friend settings. Just open the Activity app on your iPhone, tap Sharing, tap a friend, then do any of the following:

Mute notifications for the friend: Tap Mute Notifications.
Hide your activity from the friend: Tap Hide my Activity.
Remove the friend: Tap Remove Friend.

Next, ask that friend to add a Suffix to his name and then add him back.
