phone will not work... maybe water damage

it had just got done sprinkling outside and i had gone out and set my phone face down, but when i came back the screen was messed up. it went black and the phone was still vibrating and everything. its supposed to be water resistant and it had a case on it so it didn't get wet, and if it did, it was barely anything. I've soaked my phone in rice and tried to charge it but nothing seems to work. i have no idea what the problem with it is and it shouldn't be doing this if it didn't get hardly wet.
