Failed Install of AnyConnect Client
This morning I had issues with my previously installed AnyConnect VPN client, packaged by the University I work for. I decided to uninstall it and reinstall it, however, now whenever I go through the process it fails.
I've tried to reset the SMC - no luck
I've tried to install using terminal, following command:
sudo installer -pkg /Users/dereiziger/Desktop/anyconnect-macos-4.6.03049-repack-signed.pkg -target /
And it yields the following error message:
installer: Package name is UMN Cisco AnyConnect
installer: Upgrading at base path /
installer: The upgrade failed (Er heeft zich in het installatieprogramma een fout voorgedaan waardoor de installatie is mislukt. Neem contact op met de fabrikant van de software.)
English Translation:
An error has occurred in the installation program that has caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer.
I thought there truly was an issue, however, the tech support guy I talked to at the U of MN said he installed it just then with the same pkg file with no issues (not sure if this is true or not).
In looking in the log files, it looks like there is some kind of instance still installed, however, I don't know the steps needed to handle this. When I Search for Cisco, nothing comes up, so I'm really not sure.
I thought maybe there was an issue with my version of Mac OSx, so I upgraded to the latest, from High Sierra 10.13.x to Mojave 10.14 -- still, nada...
