Internet accounts in Mail

How do you update an Internet mail account's password on the Mac? I know it must firsts be changed with the Internet account provider, but then I assume you have to enter Preferences somewhere in the Mac so it will know the newly updated password . . . but it's impossible to find where to update it !!

Barney-15E gave a nice "clue," which did help ... but here's the actual "answer" ...

Finder Window :: Applications :: Utilities :: Keychain Access :: [keychain: login, category: passwords] :: Select account (Gmail, etc.) with double-click :: check the box "Show Password" :: [enter Apple ID password if required] :: erase old password and type in the new one :: click Save Changes.
