Running out of space on my iPod Touch
When I create or add songs to a Playlist (from My Library) on my I Pad, does that actually ADD additional space on my various devices?

It might. YOu can go into the settings and turn off automatic downloads of content.

iTunes and App store
turn off automatic downloads of music or apps. Then what you put on one device will not automatically be downloaded onto another.
