Recently while reading my email, the message body disappears and the email graphic below shows up instead. If I click on another message and then go back, the message body will be there. Any ideas what’s going on? I have already closed the app and rebooted my iPad.

Actually, you're not. It appears you are using a mail app called EasilyDo Mail. The app your screen shot shows is NOT the Apple Mail App.
The App you are using shows an open envelope which is how the EasilyDo app looks.
This is Apple's Email App Icon:
Notice, the envelope is not open.

More than likely you will need to reach out to the application’s developer for assistance with their app.
I assure you, I am using Apples Mail app.
I guess I should state that I’m using the iPad mail app.

From the screenshot you posted, that image is nowhere to be found in Apple’s Mail app. You are most likely using a 3rd party application
I can't even use my apple mail!!! I go directly to gmail act.
