Hey guys, if you are quick enough you may be able to revert back to the previous version. The 2019-004 installer creates a local snapshot on the system. You can check by running the command

tmutil listlocalsnapshots /

If it shows you one then you may be able to revert back by booting to the recovery partition, then clicking on time machine then seeing if you see a local snapshot listed that you can revert back to.

I am keeping track of the issue with more info here.

So far looks to be all T1 and T2 Macs

  • 2017 iMac Pro
  • 2018 Mac Mini
  • 2018-2019 Macbook Air
  • 2016-2019 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.

If you have any panic reports, please post a few of the most recent Panic reports.

Look for the Kernel Panic reports at:

Finder -> Go -> Go to Folder -> /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

<http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2546>

<http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT200553>

The panic report should have ".panic" in the file name.

seem to line up with times the computer had a problem and shutdown. This only started happening after taking the security update 2019-0004 today (July 24, 2019)

So, I reverted to the snapshot that was taken right before the update, but the problem still exists. I never saw this issue before installing the security update. Are there any other possible fixes to try? I tried the SMC reset that BobHarris suggested, but that didn't work :/ I'll give it another shot post-reset, but if there are any other suggestions, please let me know.

Here's the most recent problem report, if it's any help.

I tried this: go to

system preferences -> energy saver -> check "Prevent computer from

sleeping when display is off"

I don't find  the "Prevent computer from sleeping when

display is off" in Energy Saver window. What am I missing?

I have an old MacMini

2010 with Memory 16 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. I control what I install based on

anything and everything I am told to install by Apple.

This what my Energy

Saver Window looks like

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

.......Energy Saver............[..Search   ]

Computer Sleep    1min... "15 min"... 1 hr...  3 hr...Never

Display Sleep        1min... "15 min"... 1 hr...  3 hr...Never

[ / ] Put Hard Disk s to sleep when possible {set - tried not set too}

[ / ] Wake for network access {set - tried not set too}

[   ] Start up automatically after a power failure {not set}

failure

               ...[ Restore Defaults ]

[ Schedule...]  {   I have nothing set in this window  }

{there is the lock icon at window bottom for unlocking/locking for changes to this window}
