Phone and iPad

My daughter has an iPhone and I have an iPad. She has set up an Apple ID but won’t tell me the password. Consequently, she controls all content. When I change the password, she just changes it back. I want to separate the two devices and set up all new information on my iPad including the Apple ID.

how do I do this?

What password are you talking about? The Apple ID password? If you are sharing an Apple ID, (and you really shouldn’t) whatever content you have downloaded using her ID will have to be repurchased by you unless you set up Family Sharing. If that doesn’t matter to you, simply erase your iPad, start all over again and create your own Apple ID as part of the setup process.
