About 75% of my contacts disappeared.

my phone is backed up to iCloud daily. Out of nowhere about 75% of my contacts just disappeared. just backed it up again hoping it would restore what I had 20 minutes ago and it’s still all gone. This is a brand new phone, how can I restore my contacts?

Make sure you add all of your email accounts to the device and when you go to settings>contacts>default account - switch this until your contacts return.
