I can't retrieve my verification code

Can't retrieve my verification from text on old phone because it doesnt work. It is only device (phone number) connected to my Apple ID. Alternative?

setting up new iphone7 I am doing the set up on my new iphone7 and it keeps sending the verification code to that phone. (the old one is dead)... and I can't see my texts to get the verification code, because the phone isn't set up yet... I have an alternate phone number that also cannot receive texts at this time. How do I get the verification code to complete the set up? I tried logging in to icloud to see if I could access it that way - with no luck. So do I now have to just manually re set everything? or find a number I can receive text on at least temporarily?.... help!

my phone is broken and trying to restore data in my new phone but it keep sending verification code to my old phone.
