I cannot recover my iPhoto Library

Please anyone: When I click on iPhoto now on my old macbook pro, there's just a bunch of code and an error message that says I can't access my library. Are all my pictures just gone?

I know there's just Photos now, but there must be a way to access my photos?

Thanks so much,

Elizabeth

Have you tried to open your iPhoto LIbrary in Photos?

  • Launch Photos while holding down the options key ⌥. Keep holding down this key until the library Chooser dialog appears, then select your iPhoto Library.
  • Then wait. Can Photos open the iPHoto Library?
