Ringer volume turns off when Bluetooth in car connects

Simply said the car manufacturers and iPhone neither wants to take responsibility for this both are pointing the finger at each other. I have never had this problem in any of my other Cadillacs and I’ve owned eight of them this is the first time I have ever had this problem. That would seem to me that it’s an iPhone problem not a Cadillac problem

Mr. GuitarDan...Ford Service Dept told me they’d never heard of anyone having this issue and it wasn’t their fault... To be fair, I haven’t tried driving around to see if the fix Apple Tech Mark suggested works for me, have you tried it? When I read the earlier posts calling in to Apple Support made sense. If Support gets inundated with calls, their Software Engineers will finally accept there is an issue. I was on hold a long time...around 30 minutes.

I sent a letter to GM customer service, and received a letter back telling me to contact the connections center. I called them explaining what was going on, but of course they say it’s Apple. I told them this did not happen in my 2016, but they weren’t having it. They said they’ll submit feedback to engineering, but basically it was a waste of my time. Nobody gives a **** anymore nowadays.

I am a single female. No one left me a pot if gold. I am furious that apple and cadillac are both irresponsible and just don’t care that the consumer has an issue and they are both (all car makers) don’t care. Just as long as they sell cars and phones. Who cares if they really work.

I have iPhone X and a 2017 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali Duramax . My iPhone setting is set with adjust with volume button and not “off like mark” says. My buddy with a Chevy LTZ 2500hd Duramax is having this same problem. I’ll try this “fix” that “mark” says and will be back to update.

Just downloaded and install IOS 13.6. Went out to vehicle and tried it, turned on truck, let it connect to phone (even set up text messaging while in there). I turned off truck, walked away from it and 5 minutes later checked ringer on phone--no change still down, had to increase volume so I could hear it.

The "turn off adjust ringer volume with buttons fix" apparently works for some people. Unfortunately not all people including me. To further fog the issue my ringer sometimes lowers and sometimes doesn't after getting out of car.

Again, I ask when will Apple acknowledge the problem and then fix it or tell us or the car manufacturers how to fix it.

Well, for some people, it the "work around works" then at least we should be happy to have some type of solution. I find it interesting that some are experiencing different symptoms. I have "change with buttons" on, and my 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali Duramax doesn't mess with my volume upon exit.

I have had the same issue with my 2019 SIlverado since I purchased it in October of 2019. It’s gone through multiple Apple and GM updates and nothing has corrected it yet. Has anyone received a solution from Apple, GM or someone in the community? I tried turning the “Change with buttons” option off but that did nothing for me.

Unfortunately no updates. Apple dies not want to own this problem. Their stock numbers are soaring but they seem to forget that it is us, the consumer who drives that. Next time i get a phone it will not be an apple.

I guess the only way to fix it is to get an android. I have been looking and I'm switching this week. Apple doesn't care so why keep using them? This is a constant issue that I'm not willing to deal with anymore. Good luck guys!

BAHAHA!!!!! “Mob mentality”. You are a tool. I have been bringing this issue to Apple’s attention over and over for a year. The new iOS should be released next month. If they haven’t fixed it by now, they probably aren’t going to by the release date.

Maybe I am a tool but at least I’m providing information that could potentially help someone fix an issue instead of crying about a company to fix an issue. An issue they said they’re working to fix. Good luck though boomer.

Can you not read??? I said I’ve been trying for a year to get a fix, and they don’t do anything. EVERY TIME they blame the vehicle manufacturer. You are ridiculously defensive to Apple. You either work for them or dating someone who does.

Apparently I can read as well as you can. And if I was employed by Apple or my spouse was, why would I jeopardize a career by arguing with a simpleton on a forum run by Apple? Apple would figure out who I am and put a stop to it.
