i have just had a new iphone and I am logged in with same apple id on 2 phones(old and new) but want to restore the old one to factory settings for my daughter to use- will it delete everything off the new iphone if I do this?

It will delete data from your iPhone which you are trying to erase nothing will be changed on the other devices even if you use the same Apple ID.
Anyways take backup.
