Help in activity monitor

Hi,

my macbook pro 13" early 2015 started to make a lot of heat so i went in the monitor activity app to look for what was causing this heat excess.

Two names were on the top of the processor list draining everything : culicinae and lucanidae. System % was at 70%. I can't give screenshots as 10 seconds later the two diseapeared from the list.

I've tried to look what it was on internet but nothing.

Is it a common thing in a mac root?

thanks for your help :-)

What version of macOS are you running? apple icon > about this mac

Continue running activity monitor. See if you can see any trends.

I'd run etrecheck. Etrecheck will analyze your machine and software and generate a report. Post results here so others can view.  Experienced users have found the reported information useful when diagnosing problems. The proprietary stuff in the report gets filtered.

Install and run

-- Download etrecheck.  Goto the  EtreCheck  download page.  The download link is at the bottom of the screen

-- Install etrecheck. Goto your download folder. Double click on EtreCheckPro.zip

-- drag the app to the application folder if you wish.

-- Double click on etrecheck to run.   The first five runs are free.

How to report etrecheck data.

When the report is done, click on the export icon.

click on "Copy report" to copy to the clipboard

Get back in your web browser and access your discussion. Create a new reply. Click on the <> code icon. Paste you etrecheck output into the code block.

Sounds like malware named after Mosquitos & Beetles.

EtreCheck is a simple little app to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report...

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck.

There is also Malwarebytes...
