adding keywords to several photos at once in the Photos app

In the past I could select multiple photos, and add one or more labels to the 'Keywords' area in the "info" window for all the selected photos at once. This doesn't work anymore, is it broken? The keywords are not saved. The only way it works is to select only one photo and add the keyword, but this is a very time consuming and unnecessary work.

Using mac os 10.13.6 and Fotos 3.0.

It should still be working this way. Select several photos at once and type the keyword into the Info or add it by clicking a keyword in the Keyword Manager (launch the Keyword Manager by typing the key combination ⌘K).

If it does not work, you may need to restart your Mac or to repair the Photos Library.

Photos in Sierra and High Sierra has been a bit buggy with batch changing. I would select the photos to batch change the keyword in an album and not the main Photos album (Photos Bug causing multiple photos to hav… - Apple Community). If the pointer should lose the focus, the keyword change might be applied to more than the selected photos. If you select the photos in an album the change will be limited to the album and cannot accidentally apply the keyword change to the complete library.
