iPhone 8 Plus scratch on aluminum surrounding the camera lens

I just recently got my iPhone 8 Plus replaced as part of Express Replacement under AppleCare+. It looks like once my iPhone was replaced, it looks like a refurbished iPhone than like new. Suddenly after getting my replacement iPhone in the mail, I scratched the aluminum part of camera lens by putting the iPhone camera lens protection on. I ended up scratching it after a few times after adjusting the camera lens protector. Since AppleCare+ does not cover cosmetic wear and tear and the AppleCare+ warranty expires July 2020 with one more accidental damage, I do not know what to do? Should I trade in my iPhone 8 Plus after AppleCare+ warranty expires? It is not really worth it if I trade-in the replacement iPhone 8 Plus and get the same model for a cheaper price, but the trade-in will decrease. I would end up paying the same amount when I purchased my iPhone 8 Plus for the first time if I do not do the trade-in.

I cannot put on the aluminum cover of the camera lens because of the glass screen protector. If I put it with the glass screen protector on, it will not stick onto it very well. It does not look really nice with the camera lens cover on and not many people with iPhones uses that cover to protect the camera.

I got this iPhone replaced last week because my original iPhone had a small crack on the back part of the iPhone. I was not sure whether it was there when I bought it. I chose Express Replacement because I do not have a backup smartphone. I am planning on buying the IPhone XS Max in September and I do not want to break the AppleCare+ on the iPhone 8 Plus if I do the trade-in. It is going to be too expensive if I break this iPhone after AppleCare+ expires. If I break the iPhone in general, I cannot trade-in.

They accept iPhones trade in for cosmetic wear and tear. I actually scratched the aluminum part of the gold part of the camera lens while putting on the camera lens protector.

Again, I scratched the aluminum part to adjust the camera screen protector lens.

This is the last iPhone with the home button, but I need the iPhone 8 Plus as my backup iPhone.
