Storage on iWatch 3

The "Usage" screen in my phone indicates that I use 80.6 MB in Music, 28.8 MB in Mail, and 17.0 MB in Photos & Camera. I have no music, mail or photos synced with the watch. Is this all just the app memory? If not, how do get rid of all of this? I keep getting the message that my memory is filled up but there isn't much loaded onto my watch.

The usages you mention are trivial and insignificant, less than 1% of the available storage. Your Apple Watch Series 3 has 8 Gigabytes of storage in the GPS model, or 16 Gigabytes if it is the cellular version. If you are seeing full storage reports these are not the problem and it is more likely you are dealing with a software glitch or corrupted memory blocking the storage. There are two likely DIY fixes:

  • Forced reset your watch (that’s a heavy duty reboot) to clear any memory glitches in running apps. Press and hold the Digital Crown and the Side Button (together, about 10 seconds) until the Apple logo appears, then release the buttons and let the watch restart.
  • Unpair and re-pair the watch and iPhone. This is effectively a factory reset, which will reload all the watch content and software. Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support. If possible use your iPhone to do the unpairing, because this will make a backup of your watch which can be reinstalled in the following setup. The method using the watch alone is a little more brutal and doesn’t make a backup - but this is not a major disaster because all your useful watch content is saved in your iPhone or iCloud anyway.
