Just bought a new Macbook air and transferred the contents of my old MacBook Pro. Now Trend Micro keeps popping up with the message "Unable to start protection" even though Trend Micro says the product isn't registered. How do I completely remove Trend Micro ? I've dragged the icon to the trash and emptied the trash but the message still pops up. Help!
Since you deleted parts of it, you may have to Install it so that the uninstaller can uninstall it.
Anything that installs with an Installer must be removed by using the developer's uninstaller or instructions provided by them.
Search the Trend Micro site for instructions.

I downloaded the installer, opened the User Support folder, couldn't open the diagnostic toolkit and tried the uninstall Trend Micro antivirus and got the message that the program couldn't be uninstalled because it wasn't installed.
