Serial number

i try to input my serial number for a trade in and it keeps on saying that it does not exist

Make sure that you're using zeros instead of the letter "O". There are no letter O's in a serial number. Also true for number 1s, there are no letter I's in a serial number.

Hold down the Option key, go to the  menu and select System Information.

In the Hardware Overview find and copy the serial number

and paste into the trade in webpage.

Did you buy this machine from Apple? Have you ever had the mother board replaced?
