how to delete username for Mojave

Recently, I have installed macOS Mojave (ver. 10.14.6) into an iMac (4K, 21-inch, Late 2015). I have created a few username, and I would like to delete some of the username. After a few attempts under System Preferences > Users & Groups, I can delete the username using normal steps.

Kindly please help me on this.

Are you logged into those accounts? Just switching from one user to another does not log out the user you just left. It remains open in the background. You have to use "Log out username" from the Apple menu.
