problems updating iphone 5 to 11.4, then 12.4

I can't figure out how to update my iphone 5 (currently loaded with ios 10.4 that reads: "up-to-date") to 11.4, then to 12.4, so I can finally restore my iphone 5 using an iphone 5s backup (currently loaded with ios 12.4). I searched itunes and the web but found no downloadable 11.4 for my iphone 5. Thank you.

iPhone 4s on iOS 6.1.3 not updating So, a bit of context. I found my old iPhone 4s and I want to be able to use it in case anything goes wrong with my current iPhone, problem is it’s on iOS 6.1.3, one thing I know is on older iOS versions (below iOs 8.4.1) you will be offered 8.4.1 on A5 devices (which includes the iPhone 4s). I’ve downgraded iPhone 4s devices before by tricking the iPhone into thinking it’s on 6.1.3 when it’s on 9.3.5. When I try to update this iPhone it will infinitely check updates iOS 6.1.3 in about page My 30 pin cable won’t sync so I cannot update via iTunes and then downgrade to 8.4.1. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Update iPhone 7 from iOS 12.1.2 to iOS 12.4 Hello. My iPhone 7 is still at iOS 12.1.2 For various reasons I didn't get around to updating it. Would like to now, but only want to update to iOS 12.4. Is this possible? If not, would I be better off waiting for a new phone or trying to update from 12.1.2 to the latest? Thanks in advance for your advise and help Barb

The iPhone 5 cannot be updated to any iOS 11 or 12 version.
