Imovie Fps

I have videos that I'm importing into iMovie. They were recorded in 1080p 60fps. When I import them I can tell that it's made it to 30fps just by the way it looks. When I opened the project settings it says it's 1080p but it doesn't display the fps. When I export it it shows it as 1080 and does not show the fps. When I click the drop down menu I can change the resolution but none of the options allow me to see what the fps is. I thought that maybe it would be 60fps when I exported it but its not. I can't find any way to fix this.

First, you need to make sure that the project is set at 1080 60p. The movie will share out at whatever setting the project is, no matter what the resolution and frame rate of the clip. To set the frame rate and resolution, create a new project and insert a known 1080 60p clip into it as the first clip added to the project. The clip may be the very clip that you intend to include in your movie. That will set the project. You can thereafter delete the clip if you want and that will not change the setting.

To verify the project frame rate setting, open the project and expand the timeline all the way out with the slider next to the Settings button located above the timeline to the right. Then place your cursor on the clip and drag it slowly across the clip while at the same time holding down the "r" key. A yellow box will appear as you drag out, and a frame rate timer will appear that measures the frame rate. If the timer reaches 00:29 and at the next tick turns to 01:00, then you know that the project is 30 fps. If the timer goes all the way to 00:59 and at the next tick turns to 01:00, then you know that the project is a 60 fps.
