The power button is stuck down so I cannot use it

Hi.

I dropped my iPad Mini 4.

I dropped it on the power button and every time I want to power it on, it goes to the Apple Logo for about 5 secs, then it shuts off.

The power button is stuck down so I cannot use it.

Please Help,

iPad's don't take being dropped too well. You're only option at this point is to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar for evaluation and options. Accidental damage is not covered by warranty, but if you have a valid Apple Care Plan (likely not at this point), a replacement iPad will only cost $49. The out of warranty replacement cost will be about 60% of the price of the device when new.

I am guessing then that you got a great deal on your iPad Mini 4, when you purchased it?

Bought it in 2017 from Best Buy when it was on sale. Apple Store price was $399. I thought that $299 was a great deal - especially with 128 GB. At that point they only sold 128 GB versions as new.

But now? It's a no brainer. $309 for a retail refurb iPad Mini 4 (with Lightning cable, 10W power adapter, and 1 year warranty) is a better deal than $299 for a replacement iPad Mini with at most 90 days warranty and no accessories. Even better if the OP's iPad Mini 4 is lower capacity. Apple's "repair" prices for the less expensive iPad models have always been close to the price of a new device on sale or a retail refurb.

It may be possible to fix a power button, but of course Apple doesn't do simple fixes like that for iPads. They take in exchanges and then fix them up as refurbs for replacements or retail refurbs.

Apple or AASPs don't specifically repair a customer's iPad and return that. All service is done as complete replacements for either a "battery replacement" or "screen damage" price. If something is busted and you go to Apple, those are pretty much the only options unless it's something that can be fixed without going into an iPad. Exchanged units are repaired at a central facility to go out for future replacements. That's been Apple's iPad service method since day one.

My iPad Mini 4 128 GB cost $299 plus tax, which is exactly the same price as Apple's replacement service. Right now Apple has retail refurbs for $309, which would come with the full warranty, all accessories, and not just the short warranty for replacement devices.
