kernel panic three times since upgrading to 10.14.6

I upgraded to 10.14.6 on July 22. After that, I had a kernel panic on July 25 and twice today. Could anyone help with it?

Same thing happening to me.

Here is what I'm seeing:

  1. fails after random amount of time when my webcam is on while using: Facetime or Zoom. Sometimes as little as 1 minute in to the call. Sometimes as much as 25 minutes into the call.
  2. has never failed when using zoom without the webcam on.
  3. I tried the SMC reset. No change.

I'll update with any new information if / when I have it.

Same issue happening to me while video conferencing and screen sharing using either google meet or zoom.

I took it to Apple Support several times who changed the logic board one time, and did several hardware tests another time, but they keep saying that it's not a hardware issue. I switched from chrome to Firefox, as per Apple Support's instructions, with no luck. I switched from google meet to Zoom but it's still happening. I opened several cases with Apple Support to get it resolved with no luck.

It's very inconvenient especially when it happens during business meetings.

I thought of installing Ubuntu on it to avoid the issue, but I read in several articles that Ubuntu does not yet support this hardware.

Here is my hardware configurations:

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018)

2.6 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Someone from Apple's support suggested me to install high sierra on an external hard drive (don't know how, can't even download previous OS from apple), and if the problem persists, I should take my MBP (15, 2019, base model) in again. If there's no problem with HS, I should wait for Catalina, beacuse there is where the devs time focus is at.

Catalina release is expected to be next month.

Same problem. I can recreate a panic by using video (multiple times per day). Sometimes it happens after a few minutes, sometimes after more like 45 minutes. I mainly use Sococo for video, but I've recreated the problem using either zoom, gotomeeting, or Cisco Webex.

Same problem.

When I'm on and video call, it's freeze and turning off after random period of time (up to 60 mins).

How to fix it?

I have MacBookPro15,1 2018, bought it 3 weeks ago (new)

Ah crap, it worked fine for almost two weeks. Now this morning it just crashed again two times after a couple minutes of Skypeing. Called Apple and let them know their stuff is still not working, and they told me that the engineers are still working on this particular issue. Back to using a USB webcam.

Sep 6, 2019 12:21 PM in response to HalfVim

It just happened to me all day using Teams on latest build + supplemental update. 15inch/2018, 2.9Ghz, 32GB

Crashed three times during four conference calls.

Same crash dump and this is not a hardware issue. Latest build introduced this issue.

What's interesting is when I had it plugged into a multi-port hub at work (2 external displays, Ethernet, USB connections, External drive connections..etc) this problem wasn't happening during many video conference calls.

Apple needs to accelerate a fix here! Unacceptable on a $3k+ machine.

Sep 9, 2019 8:40 PM in response to chris_g1

Does Apple have a fix for this yet? I reinstalled the MacOS and then it crashed again during a video teaching session on Thursday again. The computer gets hot and it only crashes when the camera is in use. The crashes aren't easily repeated. Sometimes it's one after another and other times I can go a couple of days between. I bought an external camera and am using that because my job depends on my not dropping clients. Has anyone actually had this fixed at the store? I don't want to bring my laptop in and not have it fixed. It is extremely difficult to go without my mac when I work from video at home. I am under warranty, but don't want to go in until they have a fix.
