Is this an Apple bug or third party spyware??
When I power my iPhone-X off (slide power icon switch to the right) at night the phone turns itself back on all by itself!
I do not have auto update feature turned on.
I want to to clarify your reply.
I charge my iPhone and iWatch at night just before turning in for the day.
because I don’t want the iPhone ON approx. 18” from my head for 8 hours when I am not using it I started turning off my phone for two reasons:
1 health reasons
2 Privacy, I don’t want my phone’s mic on... ( there has been a lot of news lately about people’s mic 🎤 remotely being turned on !
So how do I keep my phone off!! For the evening for privacy and safety since Apple has yet to come up a way to charge it while wearing it ?

Turn it off and don't plug it in.
If you shut it down completely an it powers on by itself without being connected to a power source, then something is wrong. Make an appointment at the genius bar and have it checked.
If you don't want to do that, and you're paranoid about non-existent radiation and baseless rumors, then plug it in in a different room to charge and turn on Do Not Disturb so it doesn't ring and wake you.
If it's connected to an external power source, it will power on. That's the way it's supposed to work,
