iPhone read receipts not working

peoples read receipts work but one person i talk to, theirs are on but they do not inform me that my messages to them were read, it just says delivered on my end.

Read receipts not working My read receipts are not working in iMessage it just says delivered even though I know they are read. I’ve restarted the phone both normal and hard reset, turned read receipts off and rebooted, turned off iMessage and rebooted, signed out of iCloud and signed back in, and reset network settings… any other ideas???

Read receipts If I send a message and it says delivered. And this person has their read receipts on but they check the message in an area where they don't have service or WiFi, will it still show you that they read it or will it continue to say delivered until they are in an area with service again?

How do read receipts work on Messages? I sent someone two messages last night, the first message says read at 9 this morning, but the following still says delivered? How does the first message say read but the one I sent afterwards doesnt if they were sent at the same time last night? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Hello,

It is possible that they have "Send Read Receipts" turned off.

The feature is listed under: Settings > Messages > "Send Read Receipts."
