Read receipts not working

My read receipts are not working in iMessage it just says delivered even though I know they are read. I’ve restarted the phone both normal and hard reset, turned read receipts off and rebooted, turned off iMessage and rebooted, signed out of iCloud and signed back in, and reset network settings… any other ideas???

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 16

Read reciepts must be turned on at the end of the recipient's device for you to know when a message was read by them.


Turing it ON in your device will enable the Read Receipts for the messages that your sender sends.
