I forgot my passcode to my watch since unlocking my phone unlocks the watch too. I updated to the latest OS last night and unlocking my phone no longer unlocks my watch.
I tried unpairing/resetting the watch but an error happened. Now, my phone shows no watch paired and the watch is still locked.
Any ideas?

It sounds like your watch still thinks it is paired, but the iPhone has deleted its half of the pairing. You need to complete the unpairing by erasing the watch then re-pair and setup the watch again. On your iPhone go to Settings and scroll down to Face ID & Passcode, tap on it and turn on "iPhone Unlock". If you still need help, contact Apple Support by clicking om "Contact Support" in the upper right top of this page.
