can quicktime open mrl files

I have a file that I can't open its an episode from the show Wayans bros which is a favorite of mine and I need some help to open the file to watch it

Kind "Quicktime" file can't be opened with Quicktime Player I have a file (*.mov) that when I Get Info is actually a QuickTime Movie (Get info -> General -> Kind -> QuickTime Movie) yet when I try to open using QT I get the error "The file isn't compatible with QuickTime Player". I can open with VLC or IINA however. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks

QuickTime can't open the .mov file The movie is from 2008. Created using iMovie (actually a transfer from a VHS). Is there any way to fix this? I tried importing into a bunch of third party apps (Handbrake, for example) and VLC at least gets me this far.

I have no experience with mrl files, anyway, have you tried with VLC?
