Received an email stating my payment info was not correct for iCloud account

My payment info has not changed why did I receive this email regarding my iCloud account?

It is quite possible that this is a phishing scam. Does the message say, "Click this link to verify your details.", or something like that? When you hover over the link, does it point to any domain other than "???.apple.com"? Don't click!


Wait until you try to make a purchase on iTunes, iCloud or the App store. A purchase rejection message received directly as a result of an attempted transaction is the only one you should attend to.


If you were to follow the instructions in the email, you would only be feeding your valid payment information to bad guys. Don't believe me? Click on the link, enter a completely phony Apple ID address and password, and credit card number and watch as the scammers say, "Thank you for verifying your information."
