How do I disable Memories in Photos?

The title says it all. I want to stop Apple from coming into my home and rearranging my furniture against my will. Photos on my iPhone are mine and mine alone, and nobody has my permission to index them.

This is on every Apple device in my family, not just my 6s, and I need it disabled.

You cannot disable it, only complain to Apple with a feature request.

However, you can reduce the amount of memories that are created over time. Whenever a new memory is created, block it before you delete it. Then no more memories of the same type will be created.

See: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iphd4f70e68f/ios

Delete or block a Memory movie:
Tap the For You tab, then tap a Memory.
Tap  ... , then tap Delete Memory or Block Memory.

As you block more and more types of Memories, you will see less Memories created .

And you can disable the creation of Holiday memories. Settings > Photos > Show Holiday Events

And refrain from feeding Photos with information. Do not name faces, do not take photos with GPS tags, etc. there is no way to disable this feature.

Thank you. I had already prohibited Camera and Photos from accessing Location Services. I also had already turned off every option in Settings | Photos. I did not know about blocking. Now all that remains is how to get Apple from putting a ”Featured Photo”on the page.

Thank you. Since this forum won’t let us carry on for more than about a week, I will mark your reply as having solved the problem.
