Can Apple Music connect to a local iTunes server/library

Itunes will be replaced by Apple Music with the current version of MacOS.

I am not familiar with Apple Music and thus I do not know which features I will loose when upgrading.

For instance, I currently have a Synology server with an iTunes library containing all my ripped CDs.

Is Apple Music able to connect to this local iTunes library?

Also, will Apple Music allow me to rip CDs as iTunes does?

And what about copying newly created ringtones, can I still copy those to my iPhone with Apple Music?

What about the subscription fee? Do I need that in order to use Apple Music?

Hi,

Itunes is not being replaced by Apple Music. When Catalina OS is introduced later this year, iTunes will be split into three apps. About the upcoming changes with iTunes on Mac - Apple Support.

Apple music will continue to be an optional subscription service. Join Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC - Apple Support. You will not need to subscribe when new OS is launched.
