Frozen curser

My curser is frozen and when I tried to get force quit it wouldn’t come up when I pushed com, opt, esc. Help this is on my Imac

IMac controls not working A few times recently neither my magic Mouse nor my trackpad has connected to my iMac so my computer is effectively frozen. So I have had to turn the power off at source and re-boot the computer. Then they work again. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem and how to solve it? Thanks, Nick

Go to > If your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad isn't working as expected - Apple Support and follow the steps that pertain to Paring your Apple Mouse with your Mac.

Yes. I put in new batteries and the computer says it can’t recognize the mouse.
