Screenshare requests not showing up

Hi, my friend and I often screen share using iMessage but lately the requests haven't been coming through. I will ask to share her screen and, while the screen sharing app opens and it says it's waiting for her to respond, she does not receive any pop-up that lets her accept. Same goes when she invites me to share her screen. This was working fine until a few days ago, then it started taking a few tries to get the pop-up and now it seems that it isn't showing up at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions? We've tried quitting messages, rebooting the computers etc. but nothing seems to work. I have a 2015 MacBook Air and she got her MacBook Air late 2018. We are both running Mojave.

Hi there SBJ03,

Are you and you friend running the same version of Mojave? It could be possible the either of you has updated to a newer version of Mojave (such as the latest 10.14.6 release), and there is a possible compatibility error.

It may also be due to any recent hardware changes in your systems.

I recommend you both update to the latest version of Mojave to see if this solves your problem. If this doesn't resolve the issue, please post back your results and we'll try and get to the bottom of this.
