Caller can't hear me when I use lightning earpods and my phone is in my pocket

When I receive or make a call with my headphones attached to the phone (iPhone7 with lightning connector), the phone is still getting the sound from the phone's microphone, so caller can't hear me if my phone is in the packet. When I take the phone out of the pocket and place it near the sound source, the caller can hear me well.

There is no any kind of dirt in lightning port. I've also already tried to use another pair of earpods, but the problem persists. The only way to bypass this issue is to use Bluetooth earpods or to hold the phone's microphone near the mouth while talking. But then, what's the point of earpods...
