Ipod touch disabled

Ipod is disabled (by my child) and says "connect to Itunes". I usually access my itunes from my laptop which is a HP however since getting my ipod touch I just download songs from there now.

I can't access itunes on my ipod because of the disablement so I'm trying to get on there through my laptop but it doesn't seem to be working. I can log into itunes etc but have no idea where to go next.

I am not that tech savvy so any help would be greatly appreciated.
