MacOS Mojave stuck in recovery for DAYS

I am in the process of updating my OS X. I had an outdated version, so seeing that my MacBook Pro was compatible, I began installing Mojave through the App Store.

The installation got stuck by installing through the App Store, so I tried resetting the NVRAM, booting in safe mode, and I have tried installing in recovery mode multiple times.

I began the the most recent installation in recovery mode two days ago, and the installation bar is only halfway and it continuously says 37 minutes remaining. Some people say to just wait it out, but this is ridiculous.

Any thoughts?

Yep that's hopeless, is your broadband normally this slow. Oh well soldier on, but you know what's going to happen

it will get to 'about a minute remaining' disconnect and then you will have to start again. Aaaaaaarrrgh!

Is there somewhere else with a faster connection you can download Mojave onto your MBP or another Mac you could then make a bootable USB which you can take to your Mac and install from there.

Yes two days is far too long, are you downloading using WiFi, if you are you really should be using a cabled connection to your router, this should speed up downloading and provide a more robust connection. Whilst the Mac is doing this minimise the amount of access other devices have to your broadband connections they will increase the length of time the Mac takes to download Mojave.
