Cant search apple tv
I can’t search for movies on my AppleTV, they all display, but I don’t have any search feature to actually key in search criteria. Thanks

have you read About Search on your Apple TV - Apple Support
What is your model Apple TV?

The Movies app has a search tab, top-right.
The Apple TV app has a search tab, top-right.
I think my Apple TV is first or second Gen.
You can be sure if you look it up: Settings﹥General﹥About﹥Model.
A1378 would be 2nd generation. A1427 or A1469 would be 3rd generation.
Did an update kill the “old” search box?
Apple TV Software for 1st generation hasn’t seen an update in 9.5 years.
Apple TV Software for 2nd generation hasn’t seen an update in almost 5 years.
Apple TV Software for 3rd generation has seen an update as recent as 16 days ago.
There are no search tabs in upper right of AppleTV and Movie apps.
That’s odd. It should look something like this on 2nd generation:

Hmm just was thinking, it could be possible that maybe my screen is too blown up and just can’t see the actual top row of items. Does that make sense. Any recommended screen settings? It’s odd that I used to have these and now no more..

While possible, it would only happen if somebody changed settings, e.g. overscan on the TV.
Overscan was originally intended for analog signals with noise and artifacts at the edges, and non-precise alignments.
The recommended setting is “100%” or “Off”, displaying each pixel from the HDMI source, but you’ll have to verify visually to see what is best. Possibly your TV set has other terminology for that.
