Screen blinks black for a second and then resumes working normally

Hi, I purchased a new 2019 Macbook Pro last week and within a few days, I noticed the screen flicker 3-5 times a day. The screen essentially blinks black for a second and then resumes working normally. I returned that Macbook to the Apple Store this week as it was assumed to be a hardware issue (and I simply bought a 'lemon'). However, I've been using a new new 2019 Macbook Pro that they exchanged my original one for this week, and this issue is persisting. I've experienced this flickering on two 2019 Macbook Pros now in a week span.

Any similar experiences? Advice?

To anyone who's experiencing this issue on the 2019 MacBook Pro: last week, I noticed that the flickering occurs especially when the screen is adjusting to warmer/colder ambient light. I turned off True Tone and auto-brightness and haven't had a single glitch ever since. I suggest you try doing the same, see if it works for you. If this is indeed about True Tone and/or auto-brightness, I would imagine Apple can solve it through a software update.

I'm running a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) and experiencing the screen flickering issue ** after ** upgrading to Mojave 10.14.6. Just tried turning off 'Automatically adjust brightness' (as mentioned in previous posts. No 'true tone' option exists for MBP 2015 models) and the screen **still** flickers. Hopefully a further OSX update from Apple with rectify the issue.

I opened my brand new MacBook Air (2019) yesterday and played Netflix. Shortly thereafter, the screen started blinking (mostly) green and (some) black. I had it plugged to a charger, but didn’t consider it as part of the issue— I am just including as an FYI for those who asked about it. I returned the laptop today and brought home another one, thinking it was a hardware issue. The new MacAir I opened 1hr ago is showing the same symptom. This time, I tried the suggestions in this post, but to no avail. I doubt I’ll keep this device. I am very disappointed with the existence of the defect to begin with — worse Mac ever! 💻 🙅🏽‍♀️

It's hard to tell whether it's exactly the same kind of issue, but it's definitely similar. Mine is more concentrated at the bottom of the screen, but the flickering itself is pretty much the same. I also can't seem to reproduce the issue, and I can sometimes use my MacBook for a whole day without noticing any flickering whatsoever.

I'll make sure to submit a bug report, Apple should look into this.
