Gift cards

I found an unreserved iTunes card. I went to the iTunes Store to see if the card was still valid. I scanned the card number and it came up there was $50 on the card, but then prompted me to buy music or subscribe. I didn’t want to do anything at that time so cancelled out. When I then re-entered the card number was told the card had been redeemed. Is there anything I can do to use the $50?
