Using Dual Sim with an eSIM for iphone XS max

I live in Trinidad and Tobago (located in the Caribbean) and I would like to to purchase an iphone xs max to use the esim feature however, the carriers here in Trinidad do not support esim. Is it possible to have the esim programmed to my current Trinidad number from the USA?
