Folder actions and automator

Hello Everyone.

Just wondering if anyone's come across an answer to my issue.

When i have more than 10 folder actions assigned to a folder the folder actions disbatcher just cant cope with it and the CPU goes right up to 750% and they just will not run at all. if i have less than 7 however they will run all the time. it seams to be something with the CPU just cant cope with the way the folder action dispatcher now handles the folder actions as in high sierra it worked 100% of the time no mater how many folder actions i assigned to a folder.

if anyone can please help me out that would be great.

the folder actions are very simple as well have attached a photo of one for reference

What is the point of getting the Movies folder?

What is the point of Getting the folder contents?

A folder Action acts upon things being Added to a folder which you set in the "header" of the action. Everything added to that folder is passed to the first action.

What is the point of all of the pauses?

What is the point of the Set variable as you never use it?

From what I see, you merely need the Filter Finder Items and the Move Finder Items.

I can however have 7 assigned to the folder and have no issues just when you put more than that on it doesn’t work.

I've never tried more than two, so I don't know if there is a limit, whether hard coded or functional.

You didn't post the header info that shows what folder the action is watching, but if it is the movies folder, you may be getting everything twice, once through the Folder Action and once through the "Get Specified Finder Items" of the Movies folder. From your screenshot, it appears to ignore the folder actions input, so it really isn't acting on the items that were added, but on every item in the Movies folder that meets the Filter criteria.

Hello

thanks for your response.

so my question is not actually with the Automator program itself, as they all work fine it is when a file is added to the folder the folder action dispatcher does not run and it crashes.

the pauses was just so I can see it working properly. That’s all.

the variables is so I can send a text message with the file name in it. But again the program is fine just when I have 10 or more programs attached to the same folder it does not run any of them as the folder actions dispatcher crashes
