iTunes not working: won't download music or won't play downloaded music

I purchased two Symphony X albums, and one Solarstone album. Between the three albums, 15 songs will not play on iTunes, and won't play on my phone or iPod. When I click on one of the songs, it tells me my computer (which I used to purchase the songs) is not authorized to play the song. It requests I log into my Apple account. Once I do this, it tells me I have authorized 5 computers out of my 5 available. When I click OK, and I click on the song again, it requests I sign in again and brings up the message that I am not authorized to play this song. I'm not sure if this is an Apple Store thing, an iTunes thing, something to do with syncing downloads to my computer, et cetera.

I've contacted Apple / iTunes four times and requested them to email me back, to no avail. I'm seeking a remedy or to obtain a refund.

Repeated requests to authorize an already authorized computer for recent store downloads typically indicates you have corrupt or incomplete copies. Delete the tracks that won't play from your library without hiding from your purchase history. Redownload using the cloud links that should remain, or close iTunes and reopen if they don't show up straight away. While downloading click the activity widget and turn off the option that allows for simultaneous downloads.
