iPad 9.7 and Square Credit Card Reader

Considering using my iPad 9.7 with a square credit card reader device to use at my garage and flea market sales. They offer two swipe-types that are free: one that plugs in to a headphone port and another that uses the lightening connector. (FREE IS GOOD)

Will the earphone reader device work on this iPad?

If I got the lightening connector, is there a way to charge the device if the card reader is in place? plug in to the plug in??

Thanks for any help.

Unless there's another use who owns and uses it, you may not get many answers. A better and quicker solution would be to reach out to the manufacturer of this reader and ask them. It stands to reason they have tested their readers with iPad and can absolutely answer your question.

Greetings again...

First off, I'm not sure if I supplied a feedback for your assistance on the iPd/Square issue. If you can check it (or tell me how to do it), and if I failed to do it or do it correctly, let me know, OK? You deserve a super cudo for your helping me.

Apart from the original question....

Amazon has a special on the iPad Air 10.5 w/ wifi and cellar that is $52.00 less than apple store. Same thing with apple care price being less than apple store. Can you tell me if this is legitimate. Saving a bit of $$ is always good unless it's lacking something . I know there are several sellers who do refurbished items not apple certified but I learned long time ago that refurbished in some things is not all its made out to be. (Am planning to get the 'new' iPad as an anniversary gift for my wife.) Either way, she will ge the new iPad just need to figure if the Amazon deal offers same thing as Apple store. ( I also do the Prime & Smile program which benefits the local Kansas Humane Society, so there's two winners here.) What do you think?

Also, if These the of questions are not in keeping with the community, let me know too.

Thanks.

There are authorized sellers and those who are not authorized sellers on Amazon.

If you are shopping on the Apple Store on Amazon, that would be fine. Here'a a link to the official Apple Store on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=apple+ipad&rh=p_n_condition-type%3A6461716011&dc&qid=1566147310&rnid=6461714011&ref=sr_nr_p_n_condition-type_1

I'd also check Best Buy. Not only are they authorized seller, they are now an authorized service provider.

Another place to check for discounts, but from an Authorized Apple Seller, who is now an Apple Authorized Service Provider, it Best Buy.

If this is where you finding the discount, you should be fine.
