Apple Watch not Hiding Alerts

I have some messages set to Hide Alerts. My Watch is set to Mirror Phone Settings. I have messages still blowing up my Watch. I’ve powered both my phone and watch off; both phone and watch have been reset recently(it was doing it before the reset as well); message strings have been deleted and restarted. What else can be done to get my Watch to stop going off when messages come through?

To my knowledge, from reading here, the Apple Watch will not mirror the phone when it comes to hiding an alert. You can contact Apple Support if you wish to see what they have to say, but I've never seen a comment about this that has a definitive answer, nor one that states you can hide alerts on the Watch.
